Projects Antelope Creek Park
Antelope Creek Park (ACP) is an ambitious project that aims to transform an abandoned 27-acre olive grove in Woodlake, CA, into a vibrant and inclusive community space.
This visionary project envisions the park as a regional anchor, seamlessly blending recreational amenities, educational components, and the preservation of local fauna and habitats. Through its thoughtful design, ACP will become a cherished destination that nurtures community engagement, promotes physical activity, and celebrates the natural beauty of its context.
Our team approached the project to position Woodlake as a destination for the surrounding areas and as an important cornerstone to the vibrancy and diversity of the growing city.
Creating a Regional Anchor
ACP is poised to become a regional anchor, drawing visitors from near and far. Its expansive layout encompasses a variety of features that cater to diverse interests and age groups.
Embracing Nature
The inclusion of a multimodal trail along the creek allows visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty while promoting sustainable transportation. These gardens will also serve as habitats for local wildlife, including the burrowing owls, ensuring their continued presence in the area.
Community Engagement and Artistic Expression
ACP recognizes the importance of community engagement and the role of art in enriching public spaces. The project incorporates local artist murals and wayfinding elements, creating an immersive experience that showcases the unique cultural identity of Woodlake. The park will also feature versatile event spaces that include a large amphitheater and event lawn, providing a versatile venue for concerts, performances, and community gatherings. These open spaces will accommodate a wide range of events, fostering social cohesion and interaction.
Playground for All
The inclusion of a large nature playground will provide children with a safe and stimulating environment to explore and connect with nature. This inclusive playground will be designed to cater to children of all abilities, promoting social integration and fostering a sense of belonging.
By embracing the natural surroundings and celebrating the unique cultural identity of Woodlake, the park will become a regional anchor, creating a lasting impact on the community and providing a valuable space for all users.
