The Water & Wastewater Engineering group performs a wide range of consulting services for new and rehabilitation projects at water and wastewater treatment facilities, including design of water treatment facilities for treating fresh and brackish water; raw water wells; water storage and re-pumping facilities; wastewater treatment plants using primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment methods; bio-solids handling, treatment, and disposal processes; odor control; preparation of emergency response plan and hazard analyses; and hydraulic modeling of water and sanitary sewer systems. With access to a staff that includes licensed Professional Engineers and Engineer Interns with expertise in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering disciplines, the Water & Wastewater Engineering Division is equipped to design and project manage an unlimited range of utility plant improvement projects.
Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. (CGA) has a long history of working in cooperation with local utilities, municipalities, cities, counties, SFWMD, FDEP, FEMA, and FDOT. As such, we have in place the working relationships to understand not only the apparent problems that need to be resolved in the upcoming projects, but also the hidden issues that may arise in the process of permitting and stakeholder coordination. CGA has in place many working relationships with exceptional local engineering sub-consultants who provide unique enhancements to their abilities. Among these include electrical, SCADA, geotechnical engineering, and structural engineering. As part of our community efforts and outreach CGA has been able to consistently enlist many MBE/WBE/SBE sub-consultants in the community. We actively pursue and regularly achieve 26% utilization of these MBE/WBE/SBE sub-consultants on design-build ventures. CGA’’s work with these sub-consultants on past projects has yielded highly efficient and cost effective designs delivered on schedule.
For more than a decade the collaborative efforts of Cardinal and CGA has a proven history of delivering quality project cost effectively and efficiently superseding unique requirements posed by projects utilizing the design/build delivery method. Cardinal and CGA have over $34.5MM of team experience including the City of Miramar’s 2010 Wastewater Reclamation Expansion. We are consequentially at an advantage in ensuring quality service as a group not only because of the age of our relationship but also due to the relevant credentials completed as both solitary companies and conjunctively as a unit.
The following are some of the successful Civil Engineering projects we have recently completed:
- Alternate Water Supply Study, Pembroke Pines
- East Water Treatment Plant Improvements, Miramar
